In today’s world, a mobile marketing strategy for your bar or nightclub is a necessity. There are a few basic things that your customers always have on them when they leave the house, and those include their keys, their wallet and their smartphone. Even while at home, studies have shown that smartphone users almost always have their phone within three feet of themselves. Connect with your customers the way they want to be connected: through their smartphone.

Any business, including bars and nightclubs, will benefit from having a mobile marketing strategy. Mobile marketing campaigns are more cost effective and reach more people than traditional methods of advertising. Many emails are ignored or filtered as spam, flyers are lost and signs are not noticed, but SMS messages always end up in the palms of your customers’ hands. Morgan Stanley estimates that over 90% of text messages are read within four minutes of being received. This is why a mobile marketing strategy is so important, and will only become more so.

If you take a minute to look around your bar or nightclub, you will probably see many of your customers texting at any given time. Take advantage of this by employing SMS messaging as one of your mobile marketing strategies. Reward the customers who are already sitting in your establishment by sending them out a 2-for-1 offer on drinks, or 20% off their drinks ordered within a certain time frame.

When your bar or nightclub begins a new mobile marketing campaign, one thing you are telling your customers is that you are “with it.” Launch your new campaign with a new keyword that customers can text to your short code. When they do this, customers receive a promotion on their smartphone automatically. This will bring in new customers.

You can keep these customers coming in by periodically sending them new offers. Keep track of their birth dates and send out birthday greetings with coupons for free drinks. Notify your customers of new products available at your establishment. Reward them with coupons and other deals for frequenting your bar.

Let your customers know your entertainment schedule. Got a popular performer coming in? Make sure your customers know about it ahead of time by sending out bulk SMS messages. In conjunction with this, allow your customers to respond back with “Reserve me a table.” To entice more customers to come in, conduct an SMS poll asking them to vote on the acts they would most like to see perform in your nightclub.

Do you have a relatively new or unknown performer scheduled? Hi there ,
Nice Post. You said mobile marketing solutions are more cost effective than other marketing solutions. I can understand they have a bigger reach but i do not understand how it is cheaper. Aren’t there costs that would be incurred during setting up tech stuff to do all the things you mentioned? All the stuff you mentioned sounds pretty hi tech to me.

There are always costs involved with any marketing strategy and mobile marketing strategies also have a cost. What you need to understand is that comparied to other bar and nightclub marketing strategies, mobile marketing delivers a much higher return on your investment.
